For VIPKid’s July Project, we are honoring our teachers around the world and learning what their day-to-day schedule looks like from where they teach! VIPKid is dedicated to creating a global classroom and what better way to showcase and celebrate that than with our excellent teachers!
This week, we are learning with Teacher Malika! Teacher Malika is based in Philidelphia. She has been teaching with VIPKid since 2020 and loves teaching English. Let’s see what she says about being an online teacher with VIPKid!
What does your day-to-day schedule look like as an online teacher with VIPKid?
“I first eat breakfast, then have my daily devotion and prayer. After that, I travel downtown to teach at a charter school during the morning and afternoons. Then, I am able to prepare my props for online teaching!”
What is your favorite memory as an online teacher?
“My favorite memory was when a Level 6 student taught me how to say ‘Hello’ in Chinese.”
What is your favorite part about being an online teacher?
“My favorite part about being an online teacher is the ability to teach anywhere in my home without being stuck in one place.”
What brought or inspired you to work with VIPKid?
“What brought me to VIPKid was the ability to both learn to teach online while holding a flexible schedule that has helped me to accumulate valuable income on the side.”
What is something your students may be surprised to learn about you?
“My students would be surprised to know that I received assistance with reading and comprehension myself in school.”
