For VIPKid’s July Project, we are honoring our teachers around the world and learning what a teacher’s day-to-day schedule looks like from where they teach! VIPKid is dedicated to creating a global classroom and what better way to showcase and celebrate that than with our excellent teachers!

This week, we are learning with Teacher Fredina! Teacher Fredina is based in Ohio and has been teaching with VIPKid since 2019. Let’s see what she says about being an online teacher with VIPKid!

What does your day-to-day schedule look like as an online teacher with VIPKid?

“It is exciting. The class preparation is uniquely designed the night before to engage the student. However, discernment during the class lets me know if to stay on course or change the environment according to the student’s energy level, and responses to verbal/nonverbal body language. I have learned and am still learning that the class atmosphere is based upon the student’s ongoing needs in relation to his/her soul care and physical health. This seems to channel the student’s ability to learn and comprehend class work.”

What is your favorite memory as an online teacher?

“The joy, pleasure, and compassion of watching the student flourish at his/her own pace within the academic sessions.”

What is your favorite part about being an online teacher?

“I love being able to share my English skills, and experiences within the classroom environment. I would say my favorite part about online teaching is the feedback received from the students. When they leave me feedback or tell me in class how much they learned and enjoyed the creative class sessions.”

What brought or inspired you to teach online with VIPKid?

“I was inspired by VIPKID’s love and compassion to teach English as a second language.”

What is something your students may be surprised to learn about you?

“I am fun and energetic and love to pray!”
