VIPKid is excited to present Ilyasah Shabazz as our first guest in our Diversity Speaker Series. In honor of Black History Month, Ms. Shabazz’s talk is a free event that will take place over Zoom, on February 25th from 6-6:45 PM EST, exclusively for our VIPKid Teacher community.

About this Event

Ilyasah Shabazz is an award-winning author, educator and producer. She has authored five historical novels and has served as project advisor for the PBS award-winning documentary, Prince Among Slaves. She is the daughter of Malcolm X and Co-Chairperson of the Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial and Educational Center. In her work to preserve the legacy of her parents, she has dedicated herself to institution building and intergenerational leadership development with the tenants of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This will be a 30 minute talk, followed by a 15 minute Q&A.

An email will be sent to all registered attendees prior to the lecture with the Zoom information to access the event 24 hours in advance. If you are unable to attend, please note that all registered attendees will have access to the recording of the speech for 7 days after the event.
